Goal

The goal of this workshop is to promote a forum of discussions between participants that can report on the expected implications of the newly accepted UML 2.0 version and also on the foreseen side-effects it will have on the on existing software development approaches based on UML 1.x. More specifically we welcome papers involving the use of formal methods or those dedicated to particular domains (for example distributed systems).

Since this year the main conference is emphasizing reconfigurability and component-based design, among other topics, papers that also focus on this area will be particularly welcome for this workshop.

Submissions

Researchers and practitioners are invited to submit position papers related to UML 2.0. A position should be 5 to 10 pages long and should be written using the LNCS style format (see http://www.springer.de/comp/lncs/authors.html). Papers should be submitted via email to Jean-Michel Bruel either in postscript or pdf. A programme committee will review the submissions and select papers that present relevant and interesting ideas.

The selected papers will be published in the workshop proceedings (a publisher has been contacted and the details are under negotiation), and a selection of the best ones will be submitted (after extension) to a Journal Special Issue (also under negotiation).
