Title
Automatic Web Service Composition for a better building energy management
Description
RESTful services are an attractive technology for designing Web-based applications, as they facilitate reuse, interoperability, and loosely coupled interaction with generic clients (typically web browsers). Each service provides well-defined functionalities that meet specific client requests. However, answering some requests often requires the combination of two or more services, forming a composition. With the tremendous increasing number of RESTful services, building the appropriate composition is becoming a hard and time consuming task for end-users. To facilitate the composition process, automating RESTful service composition is needed. To this end, several challenges are to be addressed when automating such process, among them, automatic service discovery, selection, and orchestration. This thesis handle these challenges by proposing solutions illustrated with scenarios built upon an energy management web framework developed within the HIT2GAP[1]H2020 European project (Highly Innovative building control Tools Tackling the energy performance GAP).
