LIUPPA is structured around 4 teams:
- Cyber-Physical Systems Architecture
- Information Processing to Adapt Interaction to the Context and the User
- Software Engineering

The research carried out is applied in areas such as :
- Software engineering
- Security & Privacy
- Data Collection, Data & Services, Data Management, DataViz
LIUPPA assumes a primarily applied vision of its research which it has conducted since its creation and positions its scientific project in a precise application field: The management of information systems and architectures of Cyber-Physical Systems (CPS).
For several years, Green IT, encompassing both the technology-driven and eco-responsible aspects of eco-design, has been gaining increasing prominence in the international computer science research landscape, as well as in France, and particularly at LIUPPA. This approach, in addition to addressing societal needs and aligning with our personal convictions and commitments, is fully consistent with UPPA's positioning and its national and international recognition through the I-SITE label of excellence in the field of "Solutions for Energy and the Environment." By broadening the scope of Green IT to include IT for Green, we are moving towards a more comprehensive approach encompassing eco-design and eco-responsibility. This is naturally reflected in proposals on all the themes addressed within LIUPPA with a technophile vision (Green for IT), but also on application fields (IT for Green) on the application fields of Tourism (Slow TOurism) or on the field of Distributed Energy Systems the development of open software platforms capable for example of optimizing the operation of its connected environments and thus supporting economic growth, by ensuring reliable and fairer energy because it is local, in developing countries.
The members of LIUPPA are spread across different sites in :
- Pau (64)
- Bayonne-Anglet (64)
- Mont-de-Marsan (40)
