For several years now, Green IT, in its technophile version of eco-design but also in its eco-responsible dimension, has been gaining increasing prominence in the IT research landscape, not only internationally, but also in France and in a significant way at LIUPPA.

In addition to responding to societal needs and our personal convictions and commitments, this orientation is fully in line with the positioning of the UPPA and its national and international recognition thanks to the I-SITE label of excellence in the field of “Solutions for energy and the environment”. By broadening the scope of Green IT to include IT for Green, we are moving closer to a more global approach based on eco-design and eco-responsibility. This is naturally reflected in proposals on all the themes addressed within LIUPPA, with a technophile vision (Green for IT), but also on application fields (IT for Green) such as the application fields of Tourism (Slow TOurism) or the field of Distributed Energy Systems: the development of open software platforms capable, for example, of optimizing the operation of its connected environments and thus supporting economic growth, by ensuring reliable and fairer local energy, in developing countries.

LIUPPA is structured around 3 teams:

The members of LIUPPA are spread across different sites in :

  • Pau (64)
  • Bayonne-Anglet (64)
  • Mont-de-Marsan (40)
